Bremen School 2026
24–28 August 2026, University of Bremen
The second CAVECORE school, the CAVECORE Bremen School, will take place at the University of Bremen from August 24 to 28, 2026, right after IJCAI. Once again, it will bring together doctoral candidates, researchers, and consortium partners for a week of scientific training, exchange, and community building.
The Bremen School opens with a workshop during which doctoral candidates present the progress of their research. This is followed by a session on collaborative cognitive robotics, including a practical exercise. Over the following days, participants will engage in focused sessions on the following topics: validation and evaluation challenges in industrial, maritime, and domestic settings, model-based specification and diagnosis of robots, simulation and fuzzing-based validation of cognitive robots, and cooperative decision making and preferences for robot behavior. Alongside this, the week also includes laboratory visits, a visit to the facilities of Cellumation, and an opportunity to exchange ideas with project partners and industry stakeholders.
The school concludes with a closing session during which doctoral candidates get a chance to reflect on the week, share key takeaways, and connect what they have learned to their individual research trajectories. Social activities and informal events throughout the week provide additional opportunities for networking and interaction.
